![]() I'm just hunting for the damned Scepter of Azj'Aqir :(įrom now on I will be putting these in bank (without peeking into them first). So, if you believe that the recipe may at some future date become BoA then you don't want to open the jar with a toon that doesn't have Alchemy.Ĭomment by NelleRavencrestI just got 4 - yes FOUR Canopic Jar's solves in a row O_OĪs you can see on the screenshot I solved the 3 of them and on my way to the 4th (Not doing it until I have 2 Hieroglyphs):Īnd I'm not even an alchemist, I am so so so sorry for those of you out there farming for it day in and day out. Proving that opening a Box with a Weather-beaten Journal within by a toon with Find Fish will destroy the Journal. Upon looking in the box the second time the Journal was no longer there. When I checked the box with the toon with Find Fish the Journal was obviously not there then mailed it back again to the toon without Find Fish. I did not loot the Journal or the subsequent other item that was also in the trunk and mailed it back to the original toon that already had Find Fish. to find that there was, in fact, the Weather Beaten Journal within (I even double checked). So I mailed the Trunk to a toon that didn't have Find Fish and opened the Trunk. I wanted to test if opening the Iron Bound Trunk with the wrong toon would destroy the Weather Beaten Journal. I happened upon another Iron Bound Trunk on a toon that already had Find Fish. I have many toons with fishing and some with Find Fish - I really didn't need another with Find Fish. It may let them know whether it is worth their time or if they should simply seek out someone with the recipe and pay a slight premium.Ĭomment by 28355If the recipe acts anything like the Weather Beaten Journal then the following may happen: I plan on coming back to this page and letting other alch/arch fiends know what # jar I nabbed the recipe from. Alternatively if we could isolate alchemist data from the rest of the wowhead data, we could map a distribution, with the peak being at the 50/50 cusp from my assumption above.Īll of that considered, the comments about how many jars it took individual alchemists to get the recipe are valuable to anyone who might come back and look at this page for reference later - that is if enough players report how many jars it took them. Further attempts without success drive this down. I'm currently sitting at 7 jars complete, which means the drop rate (using my data alone) is 9.4%. Once you assume this, simply put your number of attempts into this formula: What you can do to guess the drop rate at any given stage in your progress is to assume that no matter how many jars and other commons you've completed, there is a 50% chance you should have encountered the recipe and a 50% chance of the opposite. Since data updates on this page seem a little scarce and we have non-Alchemists submitting data I've decided to guess the drop rate. Comment by 211587So I'm up to 7 Canopic Jars solved with no recipe.
